Blessing

Last weekend we had the privilege of blessing Brooklyn. It was such a special day for us! Bill and I agree that there is something sacred & powerful about a new baby being surrounded by the priesthood as they are given a name & a blessing. A HUGE thanks to all of our family who came & supported us! We had all of our parents, siblings, in-laws & nephews here PLUS 3 of our 4 grandparents. It was the perfect weekend! I have so many fun pictures to share, but I'm out of time so these 2 of Brooklyn in her dress & the 2 family photos will have to do.

{A quick note about the dress: My late grandmother crocheted it for me to be blessed in when I was only 10 days old. All 3 of my girls have been blessed in it- even though they have been 6 weeks at the time of their blessings. I think it accents their round cheeks b/c it's a bit tight. But I love the memory of my grandma!}

{Even though her mouth is open, this is my favorite picture we got of the dress.}

She looks stunning! I love the shot with her mouth open because she looks like she's in the middle of a sentence... she'll fit right in with all of the girls! Congratulations!

PS. I'm reading the book that you recommended to me forever ago, THANKS!!!

Love the dress and the story behind it. It's still in style after all these years!

What a great, supportive family you have!

Your grandmother made a beautiful dress! Brooklyn is such a darling little girl...so are her sisters! And while I'm throwing out compliments, I really like your skirt and top. Where did you get them?

Your blessing dress is beautiful! By the way, thanks for the tip about Austenland. A friend brought it over for me this morning and I am going to read it while in San Francisco this week!
