to mention my FAVORITE part of my birthday? I was helping Madisen get into her pajamas and she started talking to me about her hair. Our conversation went something like this:
M: "Mom you know how my hair is strawberry, well your hair is cherry."
I smiled and replied, "No, my hair isn't red like a cherry, it's brown."
M: "Well, hair has to be like a fruit so yours is cherry."
E: "I guess if it has to be a fruit, then mine is more like chocolate."
I love her thought process; when talking about her hair color we always tell her that it's strawberry blonde. She just calls it strawberry. And since when is chocolate a fruit?

I can just picture her saying that! I LOVE her strawberry hair!!
That is so sweet! She is such a cutie. And ya, I wish chocolate was a fruit!
Chocolate is a fruit in my book. It has to be good for you in some way.
I love the way kids see things. Jon will ask Dylan what color his skin is and Dyl will say brown. When I ask him what color my skin is, he says white. I know it is true, but he doesn't have to point out the obvious. I also love her strawberry hair.
Happy late birthday! I love those little conversations we have with our kids. At least she was trying to be nice by calling your hair cherry color. I remember when I was really young telling my mom her nose looked like a strawberry. I didn't realize until I was older how rude I was being.
Happy Birthday friend. Sorry I missed movie night!
I bet she doesn't even realize what a compliment chocolate hair, really is!!
Your girls sound so sweet and loving. Happy birthday EM! It's hard to leave those 20's behind, but look at all you've done! Plus, you just keep getting more and more gorgeous!
