Playing Catch Up

We've had a busy month & it's hard to believe it's almost over! Between new furniture, garage sales, rearranging the house (pictures to come when we're done- by the end of the weekend for sure!), MULTIPLE doctors appointments, a piano recital, etc. we did manage to enjoy a few fun play dates, Easter, and more.

*One day while I was showering the girls were watching a show. They were giggling when they came upstairs to show me that they had found my lipstick in my purse. Yes, that's ALL lipstick! Sigh.

*One afternoon during spring break we had a few of the girls' friends over for an Easter play date. I wasn't too excited about egg dye this year so I found this fun way of coloring eggs- it was perfect!
Although they didn't get the idea to completely cover the egg, I thought Madisen & Caitlyn's eggs turned out pretty cute!
Last year- post Easter clearance- I bought a kit with a large egg shaped cookie mold that came with 4 boxes. So I made enough cookies for the girls to each decorate their own. Of course they LOVED using the sprinkles. I think between Caitlyn & McKinley they used an entire bottle!

*The girls were angels while we were hosting our garage sale. It was a rainy holidy weekend, but we still drew a crowd. Toward the end, this is how the girls were occupying themselves.

*Sunday morning the Easter bunny found us (hopefully we can be on the ball enough to do it on Saturday next year). The girls found a few surprises- a new skirts, some sunglasses & an ice cube tray- in their buckets.
Then it was out to the backyard for a hunt. Something about candy in plastic eggs is just SO exciting to kids!

For dinner I made my first ham & it was delicious! Scalloped potatoes (made without milk or cheese), asparagus, and strawberry jell-o were also on the menu. Followed by our traditional Easter cookies for dessert.

What you can't see in this picture is that my eyes are swollen, red & puffy. I have served in the primary presidency for the last 2 years and we were released on Easter Sunday. So I spent most of the church block crying. Our husbands walked by & peered in the window as we were showing the children how the change would take place- they agreed hands down that I was the crying the hardest. Don't I deserve a break- I am 9 months pregnant, you know!

I gambled and....

I won! With my decision not to be induced, that is. At my weekly doctors appointment today I learned that I'm barely dilated to a 2- not much progress from last week. Which came as NO surprise to me because I haven't had any contractions. We set up an induction for next Thursday, the 30th at 5 a.m.- if she hasn't joined us on her own before, that is.

On week from right now I will be holding a baby in my arms--- I can't believe it's already here!!

To Induce or Not Induce....

That has been the big question on my mind for about 2 weeks now. There are quite a few details here, but I wanted to record my thought processes & can't wait to see what the future has for the entrance of girl #3 into our family.

**Background info: I went into labor with Madisen on her due date & she was born the next day. Caitlyn was induced 3 days early b/c I was strep B positive & my doctor was going out of town for Thanksgiving. So basically I'm one of those people that has textbook 40 week pregnancies.
**More background info: My due date is APRIL 30. However, the very first ultrasound that my doctor did at 13 weeks said I was due April 24. And the 20 week ultrasound I had said that I was due on April 27. When I asked the doctor if she was going to change my due date she said it wasn't necessary b/c the days were so close.

That being said, I've considered the following information when deciding whether or not to induce.

*First I had to know whether or not I was Strep B positive- and I wasn't. So that took away the need to induce for medical necessity of getting antibiotics.
*Then last Thursday at my weekly appointment, my doctor offered to strip my membranes b/c she was on call last weekend. I was only 38 weeks, still feeling great, only dilated to a 1 and having a piano recital so I wasn't interested in having the baby last weekend. Then she told me that she'd schedule an induction for me this Thursday in case I decided to be induced this week- at 39 weeks.
*I'm not feeling the need to rush nature. I haven't had anything more than some minor back pains. However, if I had progressed I was going to have her induce me since she's not on call this weekend and won't come in for the delivery. Sadly when I called to change my appointment to Wednesday the schedule was full. That made my decision to keep my regular appointment on Thursday afternoon easy. So I asked if she could schedule an induction for Friday- in case I was progressing & to avoid the weekend issue. But for some reason she doesn't do inductions on Friday, so the final decision is........

We are going to sit back and wait for this baby to come on her own! Almost.... I will schedule an induction for next Thursday, April 30 if she hasn't come on her own by then because my doctor is going out of town on May 1 for 10 days!

~Oh, and we still don't have a name so this gives us a few more days to deliberate.

Bill and I have acquired some model home furniture & decor that we are selling.

We are having a 'garage' sale this Saturday, April 11 at our house. We'd like to open it up to you- our friends and family ONLY- for the first hour, 7-8 a.m.

All of the furniture is in good condition. It has been used for display only in the model home. Some of the items include; a queen size bedroom set, night stands, end tables, tables, chairs, paintings, couches, coffee tables, lamps, miscellaneous home decor and more.

General Conference

For as long as I can remember my family has had waffles on Sunday morning while we listened to General Conference. It was extra special this year because we were in UT and were able to participate in the tradition for the first time in a long time.

After breakfast the kids played while the adults attempted to listen to Conference. Have you ever tried to listen to speakers with three excited children running around? Lets just say I'm glad the talks all come out in the Ensign next month. The kids did sit semi-quietly for President Monson's talk, so that was nice.

And So It Goes

Yesterday I had gone outside to walk a friend to her car & both of the girls were with me. Suddenly Madisen was gone. Silly me assumed that she had gone in to play with her toys. That's what I kept thinking until she returned looking like this. I wish you could see the detail better, but she was pretty accurate in getting the eyebrows painted & there was mascara on her eyelashes.
She's been asking more frequently if she can wear make-up. The hard rule at our house is on Halloween & for dance performances.
