Last Week

Was really the first time that I've felt tired this pregnancy (WAHOO!) . I took a nap almost every day with my girls and was in bed by 9:00 4 of the 7 nights. Which is why there were a lot of things that went undone, blogging being just one of them.

On Monday while Madisen & I were doing her dolly's hair, we noticed a long piece that needed to be cut. Madisen quickly found her scissors and we carefully snipped the stray strand. She went to throw it in the trash while I continued working on the doll's hair when I heard a loud "S-n-i-p" sound. "Madisen, what did you just cut?" I knew full well that that was not the sound of scissors on paper. She came running over to me & this is what I found. She had hacked away at the side of her head with only one swipe. She's been trying to grow out her hair and it was finally all the same length! We talked about how dangerous it was to cut by our heads, and that the natural consequence is that she'd have to get her hair cut short again. So it was Sister Buck to the rescue!

For FHE we decorated a Halloween house that my visiting teacher brought over. I have no idea what was wrong with my camera, but it was on an ultra bright setting so the pictures aren't great. Caitlyn enjoyed eating the candy & licking the frosting. Bill & Madisen were the design experts and it's a beauty!

Bill had to work at a golf tournament on Saturday, so we joined a few friends for a craft day at Michael's. For $5 you can purchase a fake pumpkin & then use their supplies for decorating. We thought it sounded like great fun, but it was CRAZY! Word to the Wise: buy the $5 pumpkin & head to the comfort of your own home! I tried to let Madisen be in charge of the design and we enjoyed working together.

(You can also see the results of her new hair cut. The shorter look hides her chop job, but it's still there.)

I didn't know you were pregnant - Congratulations!!! I think every little kid cuts their hair at least once. At least it is on the side and not in the front!

Madisen is so cute, she could pull of any hairdo. But I'm with you, thank goodness for Sister Buck. You are such a good mommy, you are always doing fun stuff with your kids. You birthday beach party looked like a lot of fun. I'm glad you had such a good birthday.

I think it's a girl thing to do. Carlee did the same thing when she was three. The day before family pictures. It was horrible, but she learned. She never did it again. Then Katie did it a few times. But hers for some reason is always in the back, and her hair is curly, so not too bad! Madisen is soooo cute!!!!!

Sleep it up Em! You deserve it. Look at all the cute things you do with your kids, unique hair do's and all. I think it's time I turn off the Dora the Explorer marathon.

I love the new short hairdo on Madisen. It's sassy. And it will grow fast. And I'm glad you are finally feeling pregnant so that I have someone to complain with.
