Heart Day 2011

We prepared for the holiday of love by creating some homemade decorations (a banner inspired by this) and some crayon shaving hearts (idea found here). Then it was time to create some cards for our family afar.
Each year I feel that it's a labor of LOVE to make homemade cinnamon rolls, complete with pink cream cheese frosting. Here are the ones I love enjoying their Valentine breakfast of cinnamon rolls and strawberries.
The girls got to have heart do's, because I believe holidays are an excuse to break from the routine.
Brooklyn is grateful that Madisen shared a sucker from her school treat bag, and she's showing off one of the many tokens of love that we received via mail!
And last, but not least, my Valentine surprised me by having a babysitter show up at 8 p.m. Then he gave me the option of going out for ice cream or going to Charming Charlie's to spend my gift card from Christmas. Truly an act of love for him to meander through an accessory store with me for 45 minutes! He's so romantic!! Sadly, Starbucks had closed by the time we were through so we couldn't share a drink. So we called it a night. It was a perfect hour to be together and remember how we met 8 years ago on this very day!!

Aww! Cute girls and great surprise for an hour long date. I've never heard the story of how you met but fun that it was on the day of love!
