Tonight we attended Madisen's kindergarten open house/ program. We started the evening in her classroom where she showed us a book she could read, her writing folder, her desk, her favorite center and got to put on the necklace she had made in art.

Grandma and Grandpa joined us, too. By the time we entered the cafeteria/gym area the place was packed. Bill and his parents took the 2 younger girls to the back and I up squeezed my pregnant self into the 2nd row with some friends so I could get good some good pictures of Madisen. Who puts the short kids on the FRONT ROW... not on risers?

Getting ready to sing.

Madisen's whole class. Too bad I didn't think to get a picture of the whole kindergarten together- there are 10 classes and it was quite a sight! The classes were placed on the stage according to color; red, yellow, green and blue. They sang a song that I know from my BYU preschool days and they were to stand and sit as the song directed. It was precious!

In addition to the colors song they sang 3 other songs, ending with the school theme song. (I tried to get some good action shots, but they are pretty blurry and I don't have the patience to upload the song that I recorded.) In between the songs 2 children from each class were selected to share their favorite thing they learned in kindergarten. We were proud of Madisen (who can be shy at times) as she confidently stepped up to the microphone and clearly recited her lines. I was SO impressed that she did it- it was like speaking in sacrament meeting! (The little boy in the blue shirt is a friend in our ward who also was brave and confident!)
***I waited 2 hours for the video to upload... with no luck. I'll have to try again later!
Sadly, I cut the recording off before you could hear the audience erupt into giggles and cheers as she finished her lines!

Love the Kindergarten stuff. Wish I did more of that at my school. I love their matching but not matching dresses too. Is number four a girl too?
