I'm sorry that I STILL don't have any picutres to post. But don't worry, my memory card is full with over 250 pictures.
The quick & dirty:
*The borrowed wireless signal we were receiving on our borrowed computer is no longer working. The people blocked their signal so we can't borrow it any more---- Can you believe it?
*We've got a new computer ordered from Costco. Who knows how long it will take to ship.
*AT&T will hook up our Internet & Cable service on Wednesday, October 7. I only have 1 more week to live in my bubble.
*Yes, I'm at the library using the Internet. Thank gooness for public services! Oh, and my wonderful husband who took the kids so I can use the computer at the library.
The long & wordy:
I've given a lot of thought to one's "need" for technology- aka The Computer. In a nut shell; I've enjoyed not having to compete with the TV for my kids' time & I'm sure they've enjoyed not having to compete with the computer for me. I certainly try to make sure we all use technology in moderation, but in that sense it's been nice not to have it at all. On the other hand I feel a bit isolated without it. I enjoy checking my email and browsing at blogs.... to see how other moms are getting through their days. And if I have a thought or memorable moment from one of my children to record/share, I like the ease & efficiency of typing it. I also like being able to look up a phone number, an address, the weather report, a recipe, a craft project for my kids, or the daily news at the touch of my fingertips.
So... in one more week we'll be connected at home again. Until then I'm going to "CHEERFULLY do all things that lie in {my} power" to get my house in order. Unpacking is slow & time consuming. My goal is to be fully decorated & organized by next Wednesday so I can use my 'free' time to get the last 3 months of our lives documented (before I forget the details).

It's so great to hear from you-- pictures or not. Not having the internet is wonderful and terrible all at the same time. Way to find the good in your situation... but of course you would do that!
THANK YOU so much for the sweet card in the mail. Just so you know, I was totally dancing even before I read the words (and I read it while driving in the car!) Can't touch this!! You are too kind. I hope your birthday was fabulous...
I agree with it all. You're so on top of things, and I love your positive out look. I was complaining about a week . . . silly me. :)
I think I literally get withdrawals when I haven't had a working computer for too long. Can't wait for you to get the internet so I can see what you guys are up to in Houston. Maybe we'll have to visit!!!
