Last Saturday Bill completed his first triathlon! His company was sponsering the St. George triathlon and purchased 8 spots for their employees. He chose to do the short course: 1/2 mile swim, 15 mile bike ride, and a 3 mile run. He was up against 43 males in his age group (25-30). He was 8th out of the water- the only one not wearing a wet suit. Yes, he was the only one in a Speedo. :) We borrowed a bike from a friend- a mountain bike. My awesome husband was one of 2 guys riding a mtn. bike instead of a road bike. People would ride by offering word of encouragement and then speed on past him. The run was a bit of a challenge b/c part of it was in the sand and other parts were on mtn. terrain. Bill finished 25th!! Wahoo!!! Very impressive for his first attempt! (Side note: He got a 2 minute penalty, and without that he would've been 23rd.) The girls were so proud of their dad!!!
