Last weekend Bill had some training to attend in Phoenix so the girls and I went along for the ride. We had such a great time visiting our friends, and some extended family, too! As luck would have it, it was probably the rainiest weekend that Arizona will have all year. It poured rain off and on all day Thursday, and Mesa measured in with 1.25 inches.
On Friday we went to the zoo with Amy (our that used to live near us
in Henderson) and her 2 children and Alisha (my good friend from high school) and her 2 children- 3 women and 6 kids... we had a blast! Madisen enjoyed looking at the animals- she always had to climb up the fence just to get a better look. (The fences were made for it.) We saw wallaby's, monkey's, lions, giraffe's, a tiger and more. One of the highlights of the afternoon was the lunch stop where we sat on a bench that overlooked a pond. The kids loved throwing rocks in and watching the fish and
turtles.After a shopping trip to Last Chance (the place where Nordstrom Rack sends their extra clothes), we gathered our sweatshirts and blankets and headed to the Mesa Temple to watch the dress rehearsal of the Easter Pageant. Once the show started we realized that it was in Spanish. It was such a disappointment. We stayed for about 45 minutes and got to enjoy the set, the costumes, and feel the spirit of the message but we left early since it was chilly and the kids started to get restless- oh, and we couldn't understand any of it! But the temple ground
s were beautiful and all of the flowers and trees were in bloom! Phoenix is a great place to visit in the spring.
