On Saturday we went to the lake with our TX Carruth cousins. Since our daddy is part fish this was the perfect way to start our celebration of him.
{Havannah, Madisen, Amy} {Lainee & little Catilyn in front; David and big Caitlyn in back}Sunday we attended church, made a special dinner for dad, gave him a few gifts; a blue tie for Williams blessing day, a wallet, a swimming suit and some hand made cards.
Daddy was craving homemade ice cream so we tried a new banana ice cream recipe and caramel sauce for dessert. The caramel sauce was a winner, the ice cream- not so much.At dinner we talked about how dads have 3 jobs in the family; to preside, provide and protect. Then the girls each told us one thing they love about dad. It was pretty unanimous that they love it when dad spins them around. The first thing Brooklyn asks for when dad gets home is a 'Pin'. Bill definitely loves his girls- and son- and brings an element of fun and relaxation to our family. I'm grateful that he is the father of my children- the one I get to learn to parent with.
