On Thursday night as Bill and I were headed up to bed, around 10:30, we heard Madisen calling for "Mommy!" Boy was I unpleasantly surprised when I opened the door and found her sitting in her bed, surrounded by a huge mess. Yep, she had thrown up everywhere! Thus begun our LONG night of laundry, cleaning up throw-up, washing the bed, the pillow, and every sheet or towel that we put her on. I think the poor girl threw up about every 20 minutes all night long. When Caitlyn woke up at 11:30 p.m. to eat and then threw-up all over me, Bill and I looked at each other in disbelief. Thankfully she didn't have the flu, she just ate too fast. So then Caitlyn needed a bath and I had a shower. Once the girls were down I was thinking it was great time for Bill and I to get some shut-eye- who knew how long it was going to last. I had just got comfortable when Bill came and said, "Can you come downstairs and look at something for me.?" My response was "Right now?" Yes, this had to be done right now.
I came down to find that we needed to edit Bill's resume RIGHT THEN. It was 1 a.m. and we were working on the resueme. (A friend was going to pass it on to the hiring manager at Astra-Zeneca on Friday morning, so we HAD to make the necessary changes.) Oh what a night to remember! I think we each had about 1 1/2 hours of sleep- it was very interrupted and not so restful.
Sadly, Madisen is still fighting this stomach flu bug and it's been almost 4 full days. (So did the flu shot work?) I feel so bad for her b/c she's hungry and doesn't feel well. Everything we try to put down her comest back up within an hour. Thankfully she's able to keep down most fluids so she's not dehydrated. We're also fortunate that Caitlyn, Bill and I have not contracted this nasty bug. Here's to hoping we're on the up swing of this!
